Introductions to Cruising Course
This program provides the newcomer with a taste of what cruising under sail is all about. It is an opportunity to experience first hand what sailing is about without committing to a full Learn to Cruise Program. The program can be shared as a couple, or a group. You and your friends or associates will spend the day cruising aboard a sailing yacht with the opportunity to experience many aspects of operating the vessel.

Basic Cruising Courses
The Basic Cruising Course is designed for the prospective cruising sailor who has minimal or no sailing knowledge or experience. Each one of our students is taught the necessary skills to safely sail local water in moderate winds and sea conditions during daylight hours. They will learn to perform the duties of both skipper and crew of a 25-30 foot sailing vessel.
The format consists of 5 full days at a harbour where the theory and practical components of the course are delivered in a combined format. The courses can be spread over a period of three weekends or accomplished in one week by attending classes from Monday through Friday.
Upon successful completion of this course the Canadian Yachting Association Basic Cruising Seal and the Personal Watercraft Operators Card (PCOC) is awarded. The PCOC is now a legal requirement to operate keelboats in Canada.
If you have already successfully completed the ashore portion of the course during the off season we can provide you with the afloat skills portion of the course. This can be accomplished over a three day period - week ends or week days, your choice.

Pleasure Craft Operators Card (PCOC)
Transport Canada now requires mandatory boating safety certification for all boaters. Every vessel operator, even children under adult supervision, will require a "Pleasure Craft Operators Card". Boaters without this certification will face fines and will probably invalidate their boat's liability insurance. This one day course covers the basics of safe boating.
For PCOC only training call for rates.
VHF/DSC Marine Radio Course
Did you know that it is illegal to operate a marine VHF radio without a license? Learn how to communicate and handle emergency situations on a VHF marine radio. Upon successful completion of the course you will be awarded the VHF Marine Restricted Radio Operator's Certificate with the DSC endorsement.
